Broken Top Mountain Summit Hike
A day hike on August 9th, 2014 to the summit of Broken Top Mountain in Oregon's Three Sisters Wilderness. At 9,175 feet high, Broken Top is the 8th highest peak in the Oregon Cascade Range, and the 23rd highest peak in Oregon. I started from the Broken Top Trailhead at the end of Forest Service road 4600-380, elevation 7,157 feet; and ended at the Todd Lake Trailhead, elevation 6,118 feet. The road to the Broken Top Trailhead is so poor that it's much easier to start and end from Todd Lake, despite the additional 4 miles that it adds to the round trip.
